Of all the repairs we make each day, toilets always seem to top the list!
It usually starts out slow; you don’t notice it at first. Gradually your toilet starts running when ever it feels like it. It may only run for what seems like a short time, but in reality it’s wasting a great deal of water. A running toilet can cost you a small fortune on your next water bill.

I know, I’ve said the same thing many times! The truth is, the longer you wait, the more expensive the repair can become.
Why is that?
Many times the repair is a simple flapper replacement. If left unrepaired long enough, the water gushing past that worn out flapper starts to erode the flush valve. Think about a stone in a river bed? Sometimes the flush valve can be sanded out but often times it needs to be replaced. This requires removing the tank from the bowl, a messy expensive job!
If you have a slow drain to begin with, or your sewer happens to back up, and that toilet of yours decides to just keep running, you guessed it! Waste water everywhere!
The repair:
If you’re handy and have the time, you may want to attempt some repairs on your own. Before you start, make sure the toilet valve works and you know were the emergency shut off to the house is. Better safe than sorry. If your toilet valve is hard to turn, it’s okay to use pliers gently to turn the valve off.
